PSYCHICS, tea leaf readers, Tarot card and palm readers and some who base their predictions on the vibrations from a person's jewellery, will be at Warilla Bowling and Recreation Club on Melbourne Cup Day.
Club spokesperson Sonya Ellsworth said the upstairs Diamond Room would be the scene of the action for the special luncheon and activities for which bookings were required.
``We expect the group will be very busy as guests seek tips for the race," she said.
A $30-a-head buffet will be set up in the Diamond Room, including hot and cold dishes such as prawns, chicken in white wine, roast chicken, salads and fruit platters.
The room seats 200 and if extra space is needed, the adjoining Sapphire Room will be opened.
There will also be a fashion parade of men's and women's new season styles from Jeans West, Prototype, Katies, Formal Wear and Express Suit Hire.
Sweeps and other activities will occur on the day.
To add to the atmosphere, waitstaff will wear jockey silks and caps.
Ms Ellsworth said while the club was always busy, Melbourne Cup Day was one of the main events of the year.
As well as the special function upstairs, Emeralds Restaurant, Seaview Restaurant and the Greenside Coffee Shop will be open for members and their guests.
